Perla Mini Hydel Scheme 24 MW

Perla Mini Hydel Scheme (24 MW) is being developed by M/s AMR Power Pvt Ltd., Bangalore, across Netravathi River, at a site 1 km from Perla Village in Bantwal Taluk of South Kanara District. The Scheme envisages, installation of a generating capacity of 24 MW consisting of 5 units of 4.8 MW each and an annual energy generation of 78 GWh, on an average.

The Schemes involves construction of 529.3m long gated weir across Netravati river consisting of 453.6m of over flow section and 59.57m of intake section and the Non-over flow sections. The FRL of the weir is 19.00m and has 32 crest gates of size 12m x 6.15m, for handling a maximum discharge of 11600 cumecs. The intake block has 5 opening of 4.54m x 4.54m and feeds to the five units in the power house. The weir also has 2 scour sluices 1m x 1.5m. The power house is surface type and is 46m x 32m in size and houses the five Horizontal Kaplan units with synchronous generators operating under a design net head of 8.7m. The tail race pool directly discharges into the river downstream.

The Design Group has handled the planning and DPR preparation.

The construction of the project was completed and the units have been commissioned and generating the power.
